The Second ECO Confobition (Conference + Exhibition) on Health Tourism was held on 18-20 June, 2019, in North Western city of Ardabil, Mohaghegh Ardabili University and Ardabil Exhibition Center.

The 9th International Congress on Health in Emergencies and Disasters was held on 15-16 June 2019 in Tehran. The Congress was organized by Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and among the participants were the academia, national and international researchers, stakeholders from public and private sectors as well as representatives from UN and other international agencies in Tehran.

The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), H.E. Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour represented the ECO in the 1st Asia Pacific Innovation Forum (APIF) jointly organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Vice Presidency for Science and Technology) on 10-12 June 2019 in Tehran.

The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), H.E. Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour held a meeting with the Executive Secretary of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP), Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana on 11 June 2019 in Tehran on the sidelines of the 1st Asia Pacific Innovation Forum (APIF).

On June 3, 2019 The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Economic Cooperation Organization Mr. Nizomiddin Zohidi presented his credentials to the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Mr. Hadi Soleimanpour.

The delegation of the Iran's Institute of International Energy Studies (IIES), headed by Dr. Ali Mobini-Dehkordi, Managing Director of the Institute visited the ECO Secretariat on 3 June 2019 to have an ECO-IIES consultation meeting.

(Tehran, Iran) The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour met with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif to discuss the issues of mutual interest, including connectivity and commerce in the region.

The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), H.E. Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour represented the ECO in the 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku on 2nd of May 2019. The Forum was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

ECO Secretariat participated in the 7th World Health Summit on 29-30 April, 2019, in Kish Island, I.R. Iran, upon the invitation sent by the Iranian authorities. The World Health Summit is the annual conference of the M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers, Universities and National Academies. Through the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) for Health, it is organized in collaboration with all National Academies of Medicine and Science.

A three member delegation of the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DEVCO) and the European External Action Service (EEAS) led by Mr. Micha Ramakers, Deputy Head of Unit, Middle East, Central Asia and South Asia, DG-DEVCO, visited ECO Secretariat on 18 April 2019 for paving a way to strengthen cooperative relations between the two organizations.
